Custom Team and Group Apparel FAQs
Thank you for your interest in Destira’s custom apparel program! We love working with our customers to create the perfect look for your team, event, or pro shop and we’re excited to partner with you!
Our experts can talk through visual design and fabric choices, and we’re here to answer all of your questions every step of the way, from our first hello until your athletes are suited up in their new garments.
How does Destira Custom Apparel Work?
Destira works with businesses to design and produce unique, memorable custom garments for teams, groups, and events. We’ll work with you to stock your pro shop with logo-wear, outfit your team for workouts, camps, or competition, and design commemorative giveaways for the events you host.
We can customize a Destira design that you’ve seen on our website or in the gym, or start from scratch to create a unique look just for you. The first step is a conversation with a Destira expert.
What’s the difference between Custom and Customized?
Destira offers comfortable and contemporary tank leotard styles, long sleeve leotards, unitards, sport tank tops, leggings, and accessories, which include doll leotards, grip bags, and scrunchies. We make all custom products to order, just for you! We do not customize already-made (stock) garments.
How long does Custom Apparel take?
Timing depends on the specifics of your project. It’s never too soon to get in touch about your next (or first!) custom design.
Typically, tank leotards, shorts, and leggings, take 6-8 weeks plus shipping from the date we receive your approval on design, your sizes and quantities, and payment. Long sleeve leotards take 10 weeks production time plus shipping.
Additionally:
- Warmup Jackets require a 12-piece minimum purchase and take 6 weeks plus shipping.
- Grip bags and doll-sized leotards require a 48-piece minimum purchase and take 8 weeks plus shipping.
We recommend getting in touch with us at least three months before you want your custom apparel delivered, and it’s never too soon to start talking about an order.
Here are the first 4 questions we’ll ask you about your project:
- Do you have a specific design, theme, and/or color palette in mind? (If you’d like to use your logo in the design, please send us a high-resolution version.)
- Expected Quantity Needed (an estimate is fine - this helps us give you accurate pricing, and estimate your place in line in our Production queue.)
- Budget per item - so that we can create something amazing that won’t exceed your target price.
- Desired delivery date - We’ll use this date to calculate when we need to receive your final order and deposit.
What can we put on a custom leo?
Our in-house custom design team are geniuses, let me tell you, and if you can dream it, we’d love to turn it into a leo for you! If you’re short on design inspiration, contact us and we'll help or feel free to send us images of other things you want to incorporate into the look and feel of your design.
If you want to use a logo for your gym or event in the design of your custom garment, please plan to send us high-resolution files of the image that you want to use. If you intend to use another company’s logo or trademark, please make sure that you have permission to do so before the start of production.
Destira reserves the right to decline to work on projects that violate legal copyrights or our company values or mission.

What does Custom Apparel cost?
Your cost per garment will depend on the type and complexity of your design and embellishments. When we discuss your project we’ll be sure to get a sense of your budget, and what we should prioritize in creating your unique design.
Is there an order minimum?
The order minimum for new custom projects is 48 pieces. This minimum does not apply to long sleeve leotards.
Tell me about the design process, please.
Once an application is submitted, we can begin your design! The process starts when you bring us your inspiration and requirements. We’ll talk about your ideas, needs, wants, and budget. From there, our designers will create a collection of digital mockups for your review and feedback.
If needed, we’ll take your feedback into consideration and revise until we land on a design that you love.
What about sizing?
All Destira garments follow national clothing standards. Our sizing options vary based on the item you are looking to customize.
- We make leotards in sizes Toddler 18-24mo and 2T, and from Child XXSmall to Adult XXLarge.
- Unitards are available in sizes Toddler 18 - 24 months - CL.
- Leggings and shorts are available in CXXS to AXL.
- Please inquire about additional items or sizes.
Following national clothing standards mean that our garments fit true to size -- if you know your athlete’s size in major national clothing brands you can expect them to wear the same size in Destira.

Sizing Sets
While our sizing runs true to standard clothing size in street clothes, we recommend getting a sizing set to achieve the best possible fit. Long sleeve leotards require a sizing set to order.
We’ll send you a full set of sizes in the style and fabric to match your design, so your athletes can place their orders with confidence.
We’ll collect a deposit from you to ship your sizing set out from our California warehouse. You will be refunded when the sizers are received back at our warehouse in original condition and in the allotted timeframe.
What’s sublimation? Can you screen print?
Our custom fabric production starts in California, on wide-format printers and presses, using sublimation printing. Sublimation printing is a 2-step process in which special inks are first waterjet-printed onto release paper, then the paper and fabric are pressed together and heated to between 350°-420℉, bonding the dye to the fabric and resulting in vivid, lasting color.
The most durable form of customization, sublimation transforms the fabric, eliminating the cracking and peeling sometimes seen in screen printing, and reducing the number of seams per garment. Our customers say again and again that our sublimated leotards are the most comfortable they’ve ever worn. We know you’ll love them too.
