Destira Honors Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Many of you know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Supporting communities and organizations who share our core values of compassion and strength is our mission. In honor of all those who have been affected by this disease, Destira will donate 50% of the profits from the sale our Wings of Hope leotard to the Young Survival Coalition (YSC). YSC is the largest nonprofit dedicated exclusively to young adults diagnosed with breast cancer and their co-survivor support networks.
We’re committed to a minimum donation amount of $1,500, but hope and expect to exceed that figure through the sale of Wings of Hope leotard.
Established in 1998, YSC strengthens the community, addresses the unique needs, amplifies the voice and improves the quality of life of young adults affected by breast cancer, locally, nationally and internationally. YSC also educates and influences the medical, research and legislative communities to address breast cancer in young adults.Â
Through educational resources and programming, annual conferences, and local and online support networks, YSC ensures no young adult faces breast cancer alone. For more information, visit YSC here.
ABOUT OUR HUMMINGBIRD DESIGN
This precious little bird has inspired Destira to create the Wings of Hope leotard. The Hummingbird is a tiny miracle. Her wings beat 70 times per second, she weighs less than a nickel, and can reach speeds of 49 miles per hour. Like a gymnast, she can fly upward, downward, and backward. Her iridescent, brilliant plumage creates a moment of beauty. She is delicate yet so powerful and resilient: a symbol of feminine strength. Our Wings of Hope leotard lovingly captures this spirit in tones of watercolor over an ombre fade of pink and white. May hope have wings and fly!
