Who is excited to be back to school and back to gym?! We know we are! We chatted with the Destira Stars about how they are feeling this school year. Check out what they said below.
What are you most excited to learn in school this year?
- I am most looking forward to the biomedical elective class I had the opportunity to take. - Kayley K.
- I have learned this summer that I like making reels on the computer. Â It is fun and there are so many options to display fun pictures of my life and the fun things I am doing. Â I am hoping to take a computer class where I can learn even more. Â I love being creative and having fun with colors, pictures, videos, and music! - Alex F.

- I am most excited to learn how to write in cursive this year! I am also excited to learn my multiplication skills! - Harper E.

What is your favorite subject in school?
- Â My favorite school subject is science. - Kayley K.
- I enjoy art class and advanced math. Â In art, I love the colors and learning how to apply painting techniques. Â I even asked for some new canvases for my birthday this year. Â In math, I like learning how to solve for a variable. Â Solving for X can be exciting. Â It is like a puzzle that I need to solve-a picture I am dying to paint. - Alex F.

What are you looking forward to mastering at gymnastics this year?
- Taking control of my mindset and thinking positively. - Kayley K.
- Â In gymnastics, I am hoping to master giants and free hip handstands. I am really hoping that in the next few months I have them and can then work through the year to perfect them. Â Wish me luck! - Alex F.
- Beam routine and vault - Laynee S.
- Straight arm kip and bar connections - Kinley S.

What makes you excited for gymnastics? School?
- The lovely people I get to see each and every day. - Kayley K.
- In school, I am excited to be back with my friends and learn together.  My mom says that we learn about life in school with our friends and teachers and that school isn’t just about studying for each subject. I am excited for gymnastics, because I LOVE learning new skills and seeing what my body can do when I put my mind to it.  I know I am going to fall when I try something new, but I still go for it, get back up, and try again after.  Each day I must focus and tell myself that I CAN DO IT! - Alex F.

- Training my L7 skills is very exciting after taking 3 months to recover from elbow surgery.  For school, I’m excited to start learning Spanish and I really like my Spanish teacher. - Jenna K.
- New skills and being with my friends gets me excited for gymnastics. I’m excited for 5th grade and having all new teachers. - Natalie D.
- Gym: New skills, my teammates, competitions! School: Friends, going into the older kids hallway, being one of the older kids! - Harper E.

Who inspires you to continue striving to do your best everyday?
- Myself. Knowing what I want in the future and goals help me to continue to work hard and put my all into each day. - Kayley K.

- Simone Biles inspires me the most in gymnastics. Â When she struggled at the last Olympics, she thought she would never get to do it again but then she got back up and crushed this Olympics. - Olivia A.
